A tooth fairy gets her wings

Maybe a wee bit crooked, but that's ok.  

AONW - Tooth fairy doll

Another one night wonder (AONW).  It's been so long.  

I stopped by Chapters/Indigo books with the Crafting Widower last night.  Once we got in, I made a beeline for the knitting/craft section.  Good news.  I found some inspiration.  Enough to get me to haul out my sewing machine, start and complete a project in a couple of hours.  

I decided to give the tooth fairy doll a another try.  

Well, here she is:

She's still nameless.

Do you remember my first attempt with "Scary Glenda"?  

Does she need some wings?  

Eye surgery

Scary Glenda has some eye surgery tonight.

My crafty sis suggested that Glenda might look a little friendlier if I changed her eyes.  I figured it was worth a try.

And Glenda with her new eyelashes.

My crafty sis was right.  She does look more peaceful now.  I might order some light pink felt and give her some rosy cheeks as well (another suggestion from my crafty sis).  

I still need practice on my embroidery techniques...maybe I can get a book out from the library.

Meet Glenda

Sometimes things just don't turn out the way that I picture them in my head...

I can imagine these beautifully crafted pieces, but sadly my execution doesn't quite measure up.  

This is Glenda.

She's got a crooked smile,

lovely wings,

and puffy sleeves on her dress.

 She also has a little pocket, to store little teeth.

Glenda is a tooth fairy.

Maybe I should call her "Ugly Glenda" or "Scary Glenda".

She didn't quite turn out as I had imagined,

but I think I'm starting to like her.
